By midlife, many of us have fully inhabited our roles, and find they can no longer contain the full shape of us.
We can find ourselves feeling lost, purposeless, paralysed, unfulfilled, angry or trapped. We can feel like our identity is fragmenting or dissolving. It can feel like we are breaking, or broken, that something has gone wrong.
Yet, we function. From the outside our life looks solid.
That is partly what makes our situation so hard to explain to anyone else.
The struggle is interior and specific. We sense that ‘the answer’ lies somewhere in us, waiting, always just out of reach. We have searched for it, tried to unlock it, done all the work, yet life still feels smaller and harder than it should.
We have probably stopped trying to explain this to most people. It sounds ungrateful from the outside. Our life is good, we seem to understand ourselves, so what exactly is the problem?
We have largely accepted that this is a private struggle. That maybe it is ‘just me’. That no matter how much we try and get out of our own way, we can’t. That maybe bottled up suffering will be part of life from here on in.
But these feelings are often far more organised than they first appear, and far less personal.
Beneath even our most seemingly self-defeating behaviours is usually an intelligent, pattern based attempt to protect or defend something important.
The problem is not the pattern itself. At some point it probably served you in a useful way.
The problem is that the pattern is an old answer to an old question.
So yes it keeps repeating the past. And over time it can also lock up the qualities, desires and possibilities that belong to who you are now.
But while the pattern is still running off the old story, change can be imagined, desired and even worked hard for but in practice still feel impossible.
This is not theoretical for me. I have lived this myself and I know the suffering and sense of isolation that it can inflict.
I learned the hard way that these patterns can outgrow their usefulness gradually, or, in response to tragedy or loss, all at once. I was not ready for that.
When what keeps us feeling stable and safe comes undone, we are thrown back on our own internal resources to fill the gap. I can look back now on the unravelling of the beautiful life that I had worked so hard to build and see that, with the knowledge I have now, things could have been so different.
It took me seven years to come through this time and be able to see it clearly.
I tried everything and looked everywhere for help but was astonished, and remain astonished, at not only the lack of language available to us to describe these states, but also the lack of meaningful frameworks for understanding them.
What I wanted, more than anything, was a conversation in which I could feel safe, unhurried and unjudged. A conversation with someone who understood immediately, without me having to earn credibility or shoehorn myself into clinical or therapeutic language. I wanted to be seen by someone whose way of seeing added something I did not already have.
My commitment to you is that you will have this space. You will not have to work it out all alone.

“Real isn’t how you are made… it’s a thing that happens to you.”
The Velveteen Rabbit, Margery Williams
The aim is not reinvention (everything you need is already in you) but movement towards a life that feels bigger, more enjoyable and more fully lived.
I use a structured framework to help you recognise the patterns that keep taking over, understand what they are protecting, and build the inner capacities that allow them to loosen safely.
As the work unfolds, more room begins to open up around old reactions, giving you space to practise genuine choice. Your sense of self can start to feel steadier.
As that steadiness grows, the emphasis shifts towards remaining connected to yourself while participating more fully in your life. What is released at this point can be unexpected. As life no longer organises so tightly around management, parts that have been held back or pushed aside such as fun, creativity, vitality, directness, inner authority and emotional range can begin to return naturally.
And, as one client put it, “how good is that!”

“I feel like I know myself better and I like what I see.”

This work takes the form of intelligent, challenging and honest conversations. They allow for free-flowing conversation but are lightly structured to ensure every session builds on the last. Each conversation lasts for ninety minutes so that you do not have to edit yourself or feel under pressure from a time limit.
We work with a framework that draws from Jungian thinking, lived experience and the observational skills developed over fifteen years as a qualitative researcher. Central to the framework is a map that helps bring our patterns more clearly into view and provides a direction of travel. We also have a method for identifying which inner capacities need strengthening, and practical ways to build them.
This work takes all the most useful strategies and tools that I have found over the last seven years, together with the framework I have developed and tested, and folds them into this intensive twelve-week program.

“I came to this intensive program at a time when I knew I was about to face a period of challenges in my life that I wanted to be well-prepared for.
Working with Tamsin has been such a rewarding experience for me. Her kind, thoughtful engagement and perceptive questions have guided me to some actually quite profound insights about why I behave the way I do, and made me feel comfortable to open myself up to taking different paths.
Yes, I now feel better equipped to deal with the challenges which lie ahead, but I also feel like I have truly gotten to know myself at the age of 46. What a gift!”
“I cannot say enough about Tamsin and the growth I have experienced while working with her. From the very beginning, she made me feel as though I had a seat at the table that was created just for me, a place where I was welcomed, valued, and truly seen.
Tamsin held space for me with compassion and presence, allowing me to be heard, supported, and nourished. Her guidance helped me uncover a deeper understanding of myself and move forward with greater confidence and freedom.
What makes Tamsin so special is her unique ability to help you feel at home within yourself. She creates an environment of safety and acceptance that allows genuine transformation to unfold. Working with her has been a gift, and I am deeply grateful for the growth, healing, and self-discovery I have experienced along the way.”
“I am very fortunate to have found this program. I've never really opened up to someone as completely before, almost entirely as a result of the safety I felt. It's been a deeply engaging and satisfying experience. Tamsin is exceptionally kind, perceptive and fun. But it is her genuine curiosity and steady attention that is a true guiding force towards greater self-awareness.”
“I cannot recommend working with Tamsin highly enough. I’d never done anything like this before and didn’t quite know what to expect, but she instantly put me at ease and made the material accessible.
Tamsin is a great partner in this work, guiding with warmth and safety while asking intuitive questions that reveal fresh perspectives. I was pleasantly surprised by how deep we went in just 12 weeks. The 1.5-hour sessions were fascinating and fun, especially the visualisations, allowing for a depth of exploration that loosened patterns other types of work never reached.
I have come away from these three months with more ease and confidence. I have a deeper understanding of, and compassion for, my struggles, and I'm more able to enjoy my gifts. I feel like I know myself better and I like what I see.
I'm so glad I did this for myself.”
Because this is intensive, one-on-one work, I only work with a small number of women at a time.
